Clays Construction is a family-driven construction firm rooted in generations of hands-on building experience and a deep respect for craftsmanship. Owned and operated by Charles Clay, the company is founded on principles learned early—quality work, fair pricing, and treating people with integrity.

Charles Clay was raised in Hilo, Hawaii, the son of a contractor who operated a successful residential construction business specializing in ground-up custom homes. From an early age, Charles was immersed in the realities of the trade, learning not only how homes are built, but how reputations are earned. The Clay family became known for dependable work, attention to detail, and lasting relationships within the community.

After high school, Charles continued his development through collegiate athletics, playing football at Southern Methodist University and the University of Hawaii at Mānoa, followed by time with the Green Bay Packers. He graduated from college with a degree in Environmental Studies, bringing a disciplined, systems-oriented mindset and an appreciation for sustainable building practices into his professional career.

Following his time in school and football, Charles and his family relocated to Southern California to continue his father’s legacy in a new city. The advice handed down from his father remains the foundation of Clays Construction today: build a good home for a fair price while treating people right.
